GREEN, Larry Eugene, 63 of Vandalia, Ohio died at 10:20 am, Wednesday, November 6th at Hospice of Dayton succumbing to cancer. He was born on May 28, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Marion Green and Garnet (Moore) Green of Vandalia. His wife of 30 years, Patty Cox Green survives. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his daughters, Heather Green Fair (Adam) and Kristin Green, both of Vandalia, granddaughter, Olivia Fair, brother, James Green of Denver, CO and mother-in-law, Edna Cox of Vandalia. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Norman Cox of Vandalia and brother-in-law, David Cox of Gallatin, TN. Larry's passion in life was his family. He never missed a moment watching his daughters show horses and compete in cheerleading events. As a family they enjoyed boating, fishing and motorcycle trips to Tennessee. Two years ago, Larry was graced with his first granddaughter. He loved being Papaw and attending tea parties and nightly "check-ups." Larry served in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician from 1969-1975, earning the National Defense Service Medal. He had his private pilot's license and worked 27 years at US Airways and 7 years for Piedmont in ramp services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Tim Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 8 from 6-8 pm.
