Laura Jane Bates

Age 90, of Englewood, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017. She was born October 12, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Bates, in 2014 and by a brother, Bud Henry.

Laura is survived by five children, Kent Bradley, Barb Deeds (John), Bev Hollen, Bonnie Price (Larry) & Becky Seitz (Gary); 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and by her brother, Lou Henry.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Friday (9/15) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery.
