Laverne Sheer

SHEER, Laverne (English-Meador), age 84, of Huber Heights, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2006 at her residence. She was born October 19, 1922 in Sharon Grove, KY, daughter of the late John and Lilly Mae (Quinten) Verney Meador. Laverne was a member of the Huber Heights Senior Citizens, a former member of the Sheet Metal Retirees Group and enjoyed spending her free time shopping. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1993, 3 sisters and 1 brother, Laverne is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Clark of Savannah, GA, and Linda & husband, Ralph Ransdell of Huber Heights; 1 step-son, Roger English of Dayton; 3 grandchildren, Mark Burdette, Steven Ransdell and Dr. Brian Ransdell; 3 great-grandchildren, Erica, Little Mark and Shane Burdette; 1 great-great-grandson, Tristian and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 4, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Ronald Hajarian officiating. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 am until time of service.
