Lera Pierson Gorschman

Age 86, of Butler Twp., passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. She was born in Jasonville, IN on October 11, 1929.

Lera grew up in Dayton and was a graduate of Northridge Class 1947. She was employed at McCall Corp for 17 years and following her dreams, she moved to New York City in 1965 where she worked in advertising until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Estel Pierson & Mary Pierson Human; step-father, Wiley Human and her beloved husband, Harold "Hal" Gorschman of New York.

She leaves cherished memories to her loving family, Aileen Gorschman, Susan & Joel Weiss, Adam & Scott Weiss; sisters, Lois Robertson, Ruth Ayers, Janice Weikert, Linda (Jim) Illich; brother, Ronald (Judith) Human and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 11 AM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home,139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, OH 45377. Family will receive friends 10 to 11 AM. Interment at David's Cemetery immediately following service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton.
