LeRoy Hutchins

Age 83, of Englewood, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016. LeRoy was born February 17, 1933 in Campbell County, KY to the late Roy C. & Sarah F. (Vaughn) Hutchins.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Middleton, Thelma Smiley & Pauline Hutchins.

During the Korean Conflict LeRoy served in the U. S. Army. He went on to work for 33 years at General Motors, Inland Div. He enjoyed playing Santa for the United Way for many years and he repaired bicycles as a hobby and gave the repaired bikes to children in need. He was also a part-time auctioneer and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.

LeRoy is survived by the mother of his children, Shirley J. Hutchins; five children, Diana Engle, Gloria Gibson (Michael), Pamela Fields, Ricky Hutchins (Linda) & Roy Hutchins (Yvonne); brother, William H. “Red” Hutchins; sister, Florence Locke (Dale) and by 45 grand & great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday (12/5) at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Bearcreek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home in in charge of arrangements.
