GREGORY, Lewis Jr. age 62 of Phoneton passed away Thursday December 5, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital following an illness. He was born July 27, 1951 in Pineville, KY son of the late Lewis & Bertha (Smith) Gregory. He was a General Contractor and owner of T&J Drywall and was a member of the Tipp City Eagles lodge #2201. Jr, AKA "The Mayor of Phoneton", was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending his time outdoors especially in the woods. He also enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and just being out in nature. He was a true "workaholic", who always had to be working on something to occupy his time. He loved to sit around the campfire on the hill telling stories with his family and friends and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jr was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Teresa (Wells) Gregory; his children Jason (Marcie) Gregory of Phoneton, Tracy (Jesse) Thumser of Bethel Twp, and Lloyd (Kristen) Gregory of Union; 3 brothers Estile (Evelyn) Gregory, Earl Gregory, and Otis (Bobbie) Gregory; 12 grandchildren Jalen, Rylie, Cymon, Kai, Isaac, Jayna, Arie, Lydia, Micah, Cory, Zachary, Grace; "son" James (Ashley) Hatfield and their children Jr. and Hailey and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Sunday Dec. 8 from 2-4pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14 from 11am-1pm at the Potter Funeral Home 329 Glenn Ave. West Liberty, KY 41472. Graveside service will follow.
