Lillian E. McCroskey Heeter Age 91, of Englewood & Springfield, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015. Lillian was born September 8, 1923 in Dayton to the late Frank & Violet (Collins) McCroskey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Heeter, in 1999; brothers, Jack & Cliff McCroskey; sister, Betty Garwood; brother-in-law, Eugene Garwood; and sister-in-law, Joan McCroskey. She was a member of Polk Grove United Church of Christ for over 75 years and retired as a cafeteria assistant with Vandalia-Butler High School. Lillian is survived by three children, Paul (Norma) Heeter, Jr, Carol (Ray) Fox & Debra (Tom) Pacey; six grandchildren, Tony, Lesli, Lisa, Greta, Kristin & Michael; 11 great grandchildren with one more on the way, Angel, Carter, Abigail, Christian, Courtney, Caitlyn, Taylor, Brandon, Madison, Shelbey & Zane. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Friday (1/9) at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Polk Grove United Church of Christ, 9190 Frederick Rd, Dayton, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Pastor John Shonle will officiate. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family would like to extend a huge "thank you" to Forest Glen Health Campus for their wonderful loving care of our mother. If friends desire, contributions may be made to the Polk Grove Scholarship Fund.
