Lisa L. Hammontree

June 15, 1976 — March 11, 2014

We mourn the untimely loss of Lisa Henson Hammontree. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Lisa's life was characterized by her passion for her husband and children, teaching, and especially, her art. She passed her love of art to her son, Alex, and her fiery spirit to her daughter, Hannah. In addition to her passions, Lisa was loved for her independence, her honesty, her playfulness, her kindness, and her loyalty. Lisa was born on June 15, 1976 in Huntington, West Virginia, and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Adrian College with a double major in creative writing and art, and a Masters Degree in Montessori Education from Xavier University. She and her husband, Brad, were married in Dayton, Ohio on July 12, 2003. Lisa will be remembered with love by her husband, Brad, her children, Alex and Hannah, her mother, Lois, her step-father, Bob, her twin-sister, Laura, her sisters, Katie and Anna, her brother-in-law, Micah, her mother-in-law, Nancy, her sister-in-law, Shawn, her brother-in-law, Bob, and numerous family and friends. It is impossible to state how much Lisa will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Drive. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to an educational fund in Lisa's name for Alex and Hannah.
