Lonnie A. Marshall

Lonnie A. Marshall, age 95, born in Beetle, Kentucky to Roscoe and Ethel (Salyers) Marshall, went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by his family at his residence on Sunday August 27, 2023, around church time.

Preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Wanda L. (Skaggs) Marshall; daughter, Cindy Hammond; son, Garry Marshall, and in January of this year, his baby sister, Mary Kitchen.

Lonnie was a loving husband and wonderful dad & grandfather. He was a godly man, humble, hardworking, dependable, wise, patient and strong but gentle. Lonnie was a minister, Christian businessman, coal miner, realtor & insurance salesman. He was the founder & owner of L.A. Marshall & Sons Construction Company that served the Dayton area for many years.

Survived by his wife of 22 years, Cleo (Branscomb) Marshall; daughter, Marie Russell (JR); sons, Larry Marshall (Sue) & Joe Marshall (Marti); step-daughter, Dimple Bellamy (Dan); 3 step-sons, Floyd Branscomb, Jr. (Betty), Jerry Branscomb (Sandy) & Tony Branscomb (Peggy); sister, Jean Adams (John); brother, Clayton Marshall; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Ave., Dayton, OH 45414. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at the church, with Pastor Hollie VanHoose, officiating. The burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City.
