Louise F. (Hanlon) Steele

STEELE, Louise F. (Hanlon) age 92 of Dayton, passed away Saturday August 2, 2014, at Springmeade Health Center after a lengthy illness. She was born November 4, 1921, in Watertown, NY. She was the daughter of the late John P. & Louise F. (Burgess) Hanlon. Louise was a member of St Peter Catholic Church; was a former employee of International Envelope Co. Louise was an AKC breeder of Boston Bull Terriers and Minature Schnauzers and specialized in obedience training and confirmation while showing dogs in competition. She was Past President of the Dayton Dog Training Club. Louise was preceded in death by her husband Lee C. Steele, 2 sisters Margaret Wilson & Helen Spink, and one brother John Hanlon. She is survived by one daughter Teri (Larry) Henry of Troy; 2 sons Jesse (Carol) Porter of Mannsville, NY and Robert L. Steele of Centerville; her twin sister Mary McBride; one brother Robert (Marilyn) Hanlon; grandchildren Allen (Cindy) Edwards, Molly (James) Lindsay, R. Lee Steele, Anjeanette (Kevin) Rettig, Rene' Alexander, Michelle (Jon) Ederer, Dean (Wendy) Porter; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 6, 2014, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Graveside services will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Watertown, New York. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Hospice of your choice in Louise's memory.
