KERSH, Lynder Nell, died peacefully at Grandview Hospital on Thursday, June 7, at age 74. Nell was born in Pensacola, Florida, the daughter of Aldena Arinder Kersh and Ernest Merl Kersh. She lived much of her life in Mississippi. For the last 29 years, she lived in Dayton. Because of her disability, Nell was unable to walk for much of her life and could not talk or take care of herself. In spite of all of her physical struggles, her family, the staff at Stillwater Center where she lived, nurses who took care of her, and everyone who knew her described Nell as a happy, gentle, kind and loving person. Nell was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister, Karen Denise Kersh. She is survived by her brother Mike, her brother-in-law Cesar, nieces Kathleen and Anna and their husbands Emanuel and Kevin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home located at 139 S. Dixie Drive in Vandalia. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery located at 8135 N. Dixie Drive in Dayton. The family would like to thank the staff at Stillwater Center and Grandview Hospital for their wonderful care of Nell. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Nell’s memory to Stillwater Center, 8100 N. Main Street, Dayton, Ohio 45415 or to United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton, 4710 Troy Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45424.
