Margaret Bland

BLAND, Margaret (Russell), age 85, formerly of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Los Alamos, NM. She was born February 21, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio. Margaret was an employee of Delco Products, where she met her late husband, Paul Irwin Bland. She then made her career caring for and loving her family. Margaret loved sewing, knitting, and crafts of all kinds. She was a member of the Shiloh Congregational Church and the Victory Chapter OES. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her beloved little angel granddaughter, Jennifer Bland and one brother, James E. Russell, Margaret is survived by two sons, James and Craig (Shari); her five grandchildren, Corrie Jones, Jeffery Bland, Stacie Dahlstrom, Julie Bland and Daniel Bland; three great-grandchildren, Cassidy Jones, Cooper Jones and William Bland, and her nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, May 14 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Dick VanTine officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Margarets memory.
