Margaret F. Cooney

COONEY, Margaret F., age 96, of Englewood, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Sterling House in Englewood. She was born September 22, 1914 in Columbus, OH, daughter of the late Michael & Ella (Finan) Cooney. Margaret was a member of the St. Christopher Catholic Church and was an avid bridge player as a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens. She was a retired secretary with the University of Dayton. Preceded in death by 7 brothers & sisters, Margaret is survived by niece, Mary & husband, Dan Menke of Englewood; nephews, Mark & wife, Connie Hilton of Beavercreek and Mike & wife, Lynda Hilton of Kettering; numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 13 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Robert Monnin officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Christopher Catholic Church Memorial Fund in Margarets memory. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Sterling House and Acclaim Hospice for all of the compassionate care they provided to Margaret.
