Margaret L. Lutz

LUTZ, Margaret L., age 68, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 surrounded by her beloved family.  She was born July 7, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Fred & Marjorie Edgar.  She enjoyed her job as a bus aide with the Vandalia Butler City School system, loved collecting clocks and angels, and planting her beautiful annual garden.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.   From the moment she became a mother, all life became about serving her children and then her grandchildren.  Her family meant the world to her.   She especially loved decorating her home for Christmas, having the family over for a home cooked meal and simply spending time together.   On any given Sunday, the neighborhood was lined with family cars there to spend time with Margaret.  She loved and welcomed all her family members with open arms and made them the center of her world.

Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronald Edgar, Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Douglas; two children, Douglas Jr. & wife, Heather, and daughter, Crystal & husband, Donald Vernon; one brother, Richard Edgar; one sister, Donna Edgar; 9 grandchildren, Sherilyn Seibert, Olivia Lutz, Jacquine Vernon, Haylee Lutz, Margaret Mae Lutz, Maria Vernon, Steven Vernon, Nathaniel Vernon and Paige Clarkson; and the star of the show, her great-granddaughter, Mya Jenkins; along with her extended family and wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Margaret at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 9 at the Piqua Church of the Brethren with Pastor Larry Lutz officiating.
