Margery Elizabeth Rose
Age 97, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at Brookdale of Troy. Margery was born April 5, 1921 in Miami County, Ohio to the late Charles McKinley & Maude Mae (Yantis) Roe. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Rose, in 1978.
During WW II she served in the U. S. Army Nurse Corps in England and earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After the war she enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse in various capacities. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 24 in Bradenton, FL and active with the Miami Valley Hospital Alumni Association of Dayton, Ohio.
Margery is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory & Sally Rose; two grandchildren, Kyle Rose (Kim) & Angela O’Brien (Michael); and by four great grandchildren; and family friend, Susan Mangan.
Private services will be held at a later date.
From her earliest age, Margery loved animals of all types, shapes and sizes. She spent the majority of her life caring for her pets, modeling the most genuine form of commitment and unwavering companionship. If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Margery to the Montgomery County Humane Society.
