Suther, Mark, 56, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy and two playful, devoted dogs, Amigo and Luka. Preceded in death by his sister Kathy Suther and two stepsons, Justin and Joshua Gaier. Mark is survived by his parents, Cletus and Elaine Suther, and seven siblings: Dave Suther; Ken Suther; Deb (Sam) Horner; Scott Suther; Marcia (Don) Deel; Mary (Kevin) Barnes; and Kevin Suther. He also is survived by his brothers-in-law Mike Krimm (Sue) and Tim Krimm; sister-in-law Teri Rizvi (Zafar); and numerous nieces, nephews and childhood friends.
Mark was born in Mobile, Alabama, but grew up in Park Layne Manor in New Carlisle, Ohio. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1981 and served in the U.S. Army from 1982-1985 in Korea and Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He worked at KTH Parts Industries, a supplier for Honda.
He loved spending time with family and friends at his rustic cabin at “Boot Hill,” 11 secluded acres in Perry County, Ohio. He loved tinkering with his Toyota FJ Cruiser and driving it off-road with other FJ Cruiser lovers. He loved the Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Reds. Most of all, he loved Nancy, with whom he spent the happiest years of his life.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, followed by burial at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s name to either the Dayton Humane Society, 1661 Nicholas Rd, Dayton, OH 45417, or SISCA Pet Adoption Center, 2600 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, Ohio, 45419.
