OAKLEY, Martha F., age 87 of Clayton, passed away Friday, December 2, at the Cottages of Clayton. Martha was born March 11, 1929, daughter of the late Howard & Violet (Sarver) Frye. She was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School, was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and the Dayton Dragons. Martha was a world traveler, having seen all 50 states, Europe, Australia and many other wonderful destinations. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Oakley in 2009, her son-in-law, Denny Bolton;1 brother, Sparky Frye & 1 sister, Sarah Jacobson, Martha is survived by her daughters, Dawn Oakley-Underwood (Jack) of Dayton, Denise Bolton of Urbana, & Darlene DiMaria (Steve) of North Olmsted; 7 grandchildren, Tracy (Mark), Carla (Sam), Sara, Kelly (Micah), Wes (Laura), Brent (Alyssa) & Nick; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; her special brother-in-law, Jerry Jacobson, along with numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 5 at First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Pastor David Starry officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Monday from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Martha’s memory. The family would like to thank both the staff at the Cottages of Clayton and Hospice of Dayton for the wonderfully kind and compassionate care they provided to Martha.
