SEVERT, Martha S. (Finley) age 78, formerly of Englewood, passed away July 22, 2022. Martha was born May 7, 1944 in Jamestown, Ohio, daughter of the late James and Violet Finley. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Severt, 11 brothers and sisters and step-daughter, Karen Bostwick, Martha is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Brett) Roller; grandson, Christopher Frazier; step-daughters, Vicki (Dave) Baker, Cindy (Tom) Brassell; step-sons, Danny (Sue) Severt, Ron (Michelle) Severt, Gary Severt and son-in-law, Mike Bostwick; grandchildren, Phil Severt, Nicole Brassell, Mitch Bostwick, Michelle Bostwick, Jeff Bostwick, Scott Baker, Mike Baker, Jim Severt, Steve Severt, John Severt, Sean Severt, Caleob Severt, Luke Severt and Kyle Roller; along with numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Pratter, sister-in-law, Patricia Finley, Francis Severt, and Mary Lou Sutton, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
She married the love of her life, Bob on March 7, 1970. She was an avid bowler in her day, bowling at Thunderbowl and loved spending time with her friends at card club. Marty was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6560 in Dayton, where she served on the ladies auxiliary for many years. Most of all, Marty enjoyed her endless weekends at their place in St. Mary’s, fishing for hours on her “perch” to not catch a thing, and spending time with her family.
Martha was a beautiful person inside and out. She was an amazing mother, a loving grandmother and most of all, a devoted wife. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Martha’s life will be celebrated graveside at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 13. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the service with the location to be determined soon.
A special thank you goes out to the nurses, aides, and staff members of Troy Rehab and Healthcare Facility, as well as Hospice of the Miami Valley for the exceptional care and love given to Martha and her family. You were our rock during these past few months. The family will be forever grateful.
