Martha Jane Sullivan
Age 93 of New Carlisle, passed away Sunday March 2, 2025 at Vancrest nursing home, in the loving arms of her daughters and granddaughter. She was born September 12, 1931 in Kennett, Missouri, the daughter of the late Arthur and Laura Johnson.
She was very proud of being from Missouri and talked about it often. “Jane” was employed for many years at her daughter and son-in-law’s lighting business (LeVeck Lighting Inc.) where she used her ability of sales to create a clientele who greatly enjoyed chatting with her. She loved watching baseball and basketball, always cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and UK. She loved watching her westerns (hoping to see depictions of her cousin, Jesse James), as she called them, usually containing John Wayne, and many other old-time movies, her favorites being “Gone With the Wind” and “An Affair to Remember,” with any who would watch with her. “Jane” also enjoyed spending time with her young great grandchildren, reading stories, and singing church hymns.
“Jane” was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in Fairborn. She was an avid Bible school teacher in her younger years. Many people enjoyed her bright smile and big heart greeting them whenever they were around her. She loved talking with her church friends and was often found on the phone.
In addition to her parents, “Jane” was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Robert LeVeck, Jr.; grandson, Scott Sullivan; and great grandchildren, Anna Rogers and Millie Pugh.
She is survived by her sister, Kathryn (Dale) McClellan; four children, John (Cheryl) Sullivan, Mary LeVeck, Larry (Mileah) Sullivan and Judy Sullivan; ten grandchildren, John Sullivan, Robert (Jennifer) LeVeck III, Christopher LeVeck, Amy LeVeck, Kayla (Alan Grace) Sullivan, John (Kelly) Sullivan, Amanda (Daniel) Pugh, Samantha (Donovan) Miller, Elena (Taylor Seaman) Rogers; great grandchildren, Brice (Hannah), Juliette, Connor, Lincoln, Crosby, Carson, Brody, Elijah, Winifred, Annabelle, Penelope, Sophia, Emma, Wyatt, Theodore, Delilah, Oliver; and one great great grandchild on the way.
