Martha L. VanHoose

VanHOOSE, Martha L., 84 of Vandalia, departed this life Thursday, November 7, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Martha was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia and a former U.S. Postal employee. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Wayne Allen of Clayton, son, Ronald and wife, Cathy VanHoose of Huber Heights, and son, David VanHoose of Vandalia; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William (Chick) VanHoose and their youngest son, Kenneth. Martha also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family would like to offer their utmost appreciation to the staff of Englewood Manor, and also to all the Hospice of Dayton nurses who cared so lovingly for her in her last days. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia from 2-4 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 11 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia . If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Martha's memory.
