Marvel Marie Lands

LANDS, Marvel Marie, age 82, of Vandalia passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at her home. Born July 23, 1928 in Olean, NY, daughter of the late Clair & Genevieve (Betty) Loomis. Marvel retired from Elder-Beerman after 30 years of service and was a member of the New Apostolic Church. Preceded in death by 1 brother, Clifford Loomis, Marvel is survived by her children, Carol Nowak (Mike) of WI, Karen Offenbacker (John) of Englewood, Kristie Gunter (Robert) of Huber Heights, Donna Edwards (Larry) of Union, and Ken Lands of Vandalia; brother, Bruce Loomis (Ann); sister-in-law, Marlene Loomis; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, August 13 at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Priest Dean Jauss officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Mom will be dearly missed by her loving family.
