LINK, Marvin C. “Marv”, age 84 of Brookville, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016. He was born April 12, 1931 in St. Henry, OH, son of the late Raymond & Ludwina (Muhlenkamp) Link. Marv was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, the Vandalia-Butler Optimist Club, Vandalia Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a founder of the Vandalia Presidents Club as well as the Sister Cities. Marv was well respected in the Vandalia-Butler Community and retired as the Vice-President of Third National Bank with 22 years of service. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a part of the Honor Flight of Dayton.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred “Millie” (Stammen) Link; 1 sister, Doretta and 1 brother, Wilfred, Marv is survived by his wife, Barbara Karns-Link; son, Michael (Mert) Link; daughter, Mary (Mark) Murphy; stepchildren, Kirk (Susan) Karns, Claudia (Rick) Klopfer, April Rayner and Joel (Karen) Karns; brothers, Ivo Link and Dennis (Barbara) Link; grandchildren, Jesse (Erika) Link, JM Murphy, Sean (Kristin) Murphy, Eric (Kristen) Klopfer, Samantha (Lucas) Bauer, Chris (Pam) Klopfer, Chelsea (Rob) Jones, Grae (Laura) Rayner, Jared Karns and Riley Karns; along with many loving great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews & extended family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 18, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 4-7 pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Marv’s memory.
