Mary R. Evans

Age 75, of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Grandview Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born January 20, 1941 in Tazewell, Virginia to the late Carl H. (Sr.) & Lucille L. (Sorah) Riley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Bowman.

Mary was a graduate of Tazewell (Va.) High School class of 1958. She has been a long-time member of the Tipp City Church of Christ. Mary studied Accounting at Ohio State University – Mansfield and finished her career as a Controller at Repacorp, Inc in Tipp City, Ohio. She enjoyed her time in Louisiana as a Sweet Adeline for many years. More than anything, Mary dearly loved being around her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of the past 55 years, Gary Evans; two children, Greg Evans and Tracey Allison (Jim); four grandchildren, Spencer (Jessica), Zachary (Chelsea), Jacob & Tyler; two great grandchildren, Caie & Zayden; brother, Carl H. Riley, Jr. (Peggy); two sisters, Carole L. Lambert (David) & Shirley J. Dye (Kermit); and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Thursday (10/20) at the Tipp City Church of Christ, 6460 S. Co. Rd. 25a, Tipp City, Ohio 45371. (Phone: 937-667-8513). A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the church. Robert Vincent will be officiating. Following the funeral service family and friends will be gathering for a time of food and fellowship in the church social hall.
