Mary Joann Johnson

JOHNSON, Mary Joann, 74, formerly of Clovis, NM went to join her Lord on April 2, 2014 after a short illness. Joann spent many years working as a floral designer then a server at Cook's Restaurant in Clovis. She was born in Wildwood, NC on September 8, 1939 and died in Dayton, Ohio. Joann retired from Wal-Mart in Huber Heights, OH, while making her home in New Carlisle with her beloved cat, Abigail Johnson "Baby." Preceded in death by granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnson, Joann is survived by her daughter, Debora and husband, Bill Dunn, son, James Roger "J.R." Johnson, and her daughter, Tina Gail Johnson, all of Ohio, her brother and wife, James Paul & Pat Teasley of Copperas Cove, TX; sisters, Jeanette Winfrey of Clovis, NM, Faye & husband, David Cochran of Farwell, TX and Curtistine "Skipper" & husband, Paul Roten of Amarillo, TX; her granddaughter, Carmen & husband, Rob Marchal and her great-grandsons, Christian, Caden and Matthew of Ft. Recovery, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, April 4 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Jack Little officiating. Burial will follow at Royal Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 pm until time of service.
