Mary Alice Knauer

KNAUER, Mary Alice, age 93 passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County following a brief illness. She was born August 2, 1931 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Rice) Stover. Mary was a retired employee of The Ohio State University, and was a wealth of knowledge in all things trivia. She also loved taking walks and playing bingo. 

Preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Mary is survived by her sons, John and wife, Donna Knauer of Troy, OH and Fred and wife, Becky Knauer of Lavon, TX; 1 sister, Charlotte Reeder of Jefferson, OH and her niece, Barbara Ann Chevlier of Clermont, FL, other nieces/nephews.

The family would like to say special thanks to her extended family (staff and residents) at Spring Hills Singing Woods and her niece, Barbara Ann for weekly FaceTime calls with Mary Alice.

Private services will be held by Mary’s family. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Miami County.
