Mary Jane Scarbrough, age 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 4, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital from kidney/heart failure. Mary was born March 17, 1955, in Anderson, Indiana, daughter of the late James R & Zelma M (O’Field) Scarbrough. She was a 1973 graduate of Richmond High School, Richmond, Indiana. Mary Graduated with a B.F.A. from Herron School of Art, Indianapolis, Indiana and a M.S. in education from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.

Mary was a beloved sister, aunt, cousin and faithful friend. She was employed by Repacorp, Inc., of Tipp City, OH. She was an authentic Christian who was known as a generous, thoughtful and helpful person. She had a rare quality of loving everyone the same, finding out felt needs and doing her best to meet them. She was a member of Englewood Christian Assembly of God and served in the children’s ministry, prayer team, as church photographer, had a passion for world missions, enjoyed book club and assisted in various other roles as the need arose within the church.

Mary was preceded in death by her older brother Kenneth D Scarbrough, sister in law Peggy L Scarbrough and nephew Joshua Barrows. She is survived by siblings James, Joyce (Jay) Hensley, Alice, Michael (Dorinda), Timothy (Lisa) and Victoria. Nieces & nephews Jedediah, Zachariah, Malachi, Hilary (Jason) Poole, Christina (Brandon) Lee, Carey (Brent) Atwood, Joshua (Kaylee) Scarbrough, Miranda Barrows, Justin and Darissa Scarbrough. Great nieces & nephews Chloe, Kallie Stower, Parker Hensley, Aubrey, Matthew Atwood, Kaylyn and Brandon Lee.

Family and friends may call Friday, September 9 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Englewood Christian Assembly of God, 415 North Main Street, Englewood, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45322. Rev. Timothy Scarbrough, officiating. Burial following at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Englewood Christian Assembly of God Missions program.
