WAYMIRE, Mary Kathleen, age 93, of Butler Twp., passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Mary was born February 6, 1915 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late John Albert & Veronica R. (Schmaus) Henrich. Mary was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School, Class of 1933 and spent over 15 joyous years serving the Vandalia-Butler City Schools as the principals secretary. She was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Butler Twp., was a longtime member of the Vandalia Lioness Club and served as President of the School Employee Retirees of Ohio. Marys priority was always her family and her love for travel took her and her husband, John to all 50 states and throughout the world. Preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John C. Waymire in 2005, 1 son, Ralph H. Waymire and 1 son-in-law, Robert G. Barnes Jr., 2 sisters, Ruth Hess and Naomi Koogler, Mary is survived by her four children, John Q. and Patricia Van Scoyk Waymire of Yellow Springs, Marilyn Waymire Barnes of Oak Ridge, TN, Marjorie Waymire Slagle and husband, John of Vandalia and Patricia Waymire Arndts and husband, Jim of Troy; her daughter-in-law, Laura Waymire; nine grandchildren, Chris (Maria) Waymire, Amy Waymire (Chris) Groeber, Elizabeth Waymire, Kari (Matt) Baker, John D. (Cari) Waymire, David (Eva) Barnes, Benjamin Barnes, and Jared (Jennifer) Barnes, Kristin Slagle, Ehren Slagle (Trish) and Allison Slagle (Kevin) Tracey and James (Meghan) Arndts, Quentin (Moira) Arndts and Stuart Arndts; 16 great-grandchildren; her beloved cat, Miss Pearl and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 8, at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7700 Dog Leg Rd., Dayton, Ohio with burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Thursday (TODAY) from 5-8 pm and at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. Vandalia Lioness services will be held at 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. If so desired, contributions may be made to the St. Pauls Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Dayton in Marys memory.
