Melanie Dane

DANE, Melanie D., age 51 of Butler Twp., passed away unexpectedly as the result of complications from diabetes. She was born Christmas Day in 1961 to James & Alvina Dane of Butler Twp. A devoted daughter and loving sister, Mel loved her cats and her life in the country. During the holidays she could be seen at local craft shows displaying her decorating wares. Preceded in death by her father, James, cousins, Jerry Gradsky and Tom Owens, George & Gussie Youngerman, Melanie is survived by her mother, Alvina, brother, Daniel Dane & wife, Toni of Centerville, nieces Lydia Brashear (Jim), Sarah Baker (Jim), great-nieces, Holly & Rose Brasher, Madeline Baker, all of Mason, as well as many cousins. Melanie attended the Christian Life Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 15 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Libby Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of service.
