KASLER, Melinda, age 70, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 at Kindred Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born May 26, 1940 in Glouster, OH, daughter of the late Ansel & Pauline (Vaughn) Gamwell. Melinda was a realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty and was member of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors and was a friend of the Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip, and her sister, Sharon. Melinda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Samuel; 1 son, Scott & wife, Sandra (Hoessli) Kasler of Vandalia; 1 daughter, AmyBeth & husband, Mark Cohen of Vandalia; 4 granddaughters, Kelly and Lindsey Kasler, and Sarah and Deanna Cohen; and 1 sister, Peggy & husband, William Rarick of Pickerington, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 5, at the Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church, 7505 Taylorsville Rd., Huber Heights, OH with Rev. Jack Drodge officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Melindas memory.
