Meriam Johnson Bourne

June 8, 1926 — April 30, 2017

BOURNE, Meriam E. (Goodwin - Johnson), age 90 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Camden, OH on June 8, 1926 and raised in College Corner, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mae (Thrush) Goodwin, siblings; Myron, Warren, Keith, Gerald, Sonny and Betty, as well as by her former spouse Palmer Johnson.

Meriam is survived by her husband Howard “Lum” Bourne; son, Palmer J (Joy) Johnson; daughters Paula (Joe) Pizzino and Jennifer (Don) Geise. step-son Keith Bourne; step-daughters; Krista (Tom) Carr, Leah (John) Krickenbarger; 1 brother; Dean Goodwin; grandchildren; Angela (Gregg) Finnegan, Paul J Sherer, Josh (Jennifer) Kuhns, Jonathan (Heather) Kuhns, Joe Kuhns, Jake (Katie) Kuhns, Jared (Ali) Johnson, Troy (Elizabeth) Johnson and Lauren Johnson; step grandchildren; Shawna (Chris) Nuse, Shane (Anny) Krickenbarger, Wesley Bourne, Jessika (Jason) Wicker, Zakaria Gabbard, and Leah Gabbard; 25 Great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Meriam enjoyed family, gardening, cooking and sewing and was involved with the North American Indiana and Ohio Bluebird Societies. Meriam and Lum maintained a Bluebird trail of over 300 nest boxes for many years.

Visitation will be held Saturday May 6, from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia OH 45377 with Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating. Visitation will continue in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the Memorial Service. In addition, a visitation and service will be held Sunday May 7 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, with service at 2:00 PM at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church, 4 W Seminary St, Liberty, IN with burial to follow at Old Franklin Cemetery, Brookville, IN.
