Michael A. Cook

Michael A. Cook Age 68, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Michael was born March 5, 1947 in Cleveland Ohio to the late Kenneth & Agnes (Kochmit) Cook. He retired in 2010 from Wright-Patt AFB as a Contract Specialist with 36 years of service, with three of those years being stationed at Lindsey AFB in Wiesbaden, Germany. In 1965 he graduated from John Marshall H.S. in Cleveland, Ohio. Then he earned a B.S. at Case Western Reserve and an M.A. from Ohio State University and M.S. from the Air Force institute of Technology. He was a member of Stillwater UMC; a former member of the Dayton Cycling Club and he enjoyed travel - especially cruises. Michael is survived by his wife of the past 34 years, Janet S. (Fark) Cook; two daughters, Michelle Cook and Amy Smith (Charles); two sisters, Maureen (Kevin) Guion and Mary Lee Cook; brother-in-law, Alan Fark (Michele) and sister-in-law, Nancy Millsop (Scott). Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Rev. Jon Ferguson will officiate. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Michael to the American Heart Association.
