Michael M. Haines

HAINES, Michael M., age 80, of Butler Twp., passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 4, 1931 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Paul & Mary Ann (McCall) Haines. Mike was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a retired employee of DESC and WPAFB. He earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Dayton and was truly an avid Flyer Fan. Mike was also an active member of the Vandalia Lions Club. Preceded in death by his brother, Patrick E. Haines, Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie; 3 daughters, Mary E. Hackett (Dan) of Columbus, Annette M. Dugan (Tim) of Cincinnati and Michelle A. Demmitt (Eric) of Troy; 6 grandchildren, Peter & Maura Hackett, Riley & Kirsten Dugan and Ryan & Brandon Demmitt; 1 brother, Paul A. Haines (Linda) and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, August 12, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 5401 N. Main St., Dayton with Celebrant William ODonnell C.PP.S. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-8 pm. Lions Club Service will be held at 8:00 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Vandalia Lions Club in Mikes memory.
