Mildred L. Witham (Budde)

Age 89, passed away July 18, 2018 at her home. Born the youngest child of Edgar and Ethel Lamb, Mid was preceded in death by her first husband John J. Budde and their son Daniel Joseph and by her step-son, John Witham.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harley “Chris” Witham, son Steven (Vicki) Budde, daughter Gail Ann Sutherland (Jerry), stepsons James (Joan), and David. Grandchildren, Candice, Tammy, Jessica, Christopher and Sean (Starla). Six great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Mildred “Mid” spent a lifetime trying to make the world a better place. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, where she was a key member in the purchase of their beloved sorority house, and served in all offices. She was President of the local Sally Smith Chapter of the International Sunshine Society, originally founded to support blind children.

In addition, she served the association as its President General of several years. Beyond these responsibilities her primary interest was in home and family where she expressed her love of home through her flower garden.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Tonkin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 East National Road, Vandalia. A luncheon will follow. The family will be receiving friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mildred to Heartland Hospice, 580 Lincoln Park Blvd, Ste 320, Dayton, Ohio 45429.

The family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care and attention from the people at Heartland and Randall Residence.
