Millard Middleton

MIDDLETON, Millard, age 88 of Vandalia, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 9, 2016. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on May 3, 1927. Millard was preceded in death by his brother, Willard Middleton. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty, his children, Karen (Joe) Wilson, Richard Middleton, Mary (Les) Woodford, and Paul Middleton; grandchildren, Matthew Howell, Paul Jr, Jessica, Joshua, and Taylor Middleton; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Tamia, Emalee, Nolan and Jax Middleton. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Jean Middleton and Louise Fisher, and brother-in-law, Clifford Bailey. Millard retired from General Motors – Harrison Division after 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Vandalia where he served as a trustee. Millard loved fishing, gardening, his companion dog Jerry and spending time with his family, whom he loved.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 13 at First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
