Mitchell "Mick" W. Owens

OWENS, Mitchell W. Mick age 58 of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly Monday August 8, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1953 in Dayton, son of the late Ulysses J. & Orpha H. (Snodgrass) Owens. Mick was a 1971 graduate of Northridge High School and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his sister Deborah (Bob) Ables of Huber Heights; 2 nieces Erika Ables of Huber Heights and Marisa (Jason) Blankenship of TX; aunt Nina Strickland of Springfield, uncle and aunt Harry & Pat Snodgrass of Vandalia, aunt Beulah Snodgrass of AL; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday August 12 at 1:30pm at the New Life Gospel Center 1001 St. Adelbert Street, Dayton with Pastor Joe Mays officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening from 5 to 8pm and again on Friday at the church from 12:30pm until the time of services.
