Nancy McCallister

McCALLISTER, Nancy C. (Orput), of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton following an illness. She was born December 26, 1934 in Dayton, daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Popin) Orput. Nancy was an employee of Montgomery County Children Services where she had been named Employee of the Year. She was a past member of the Camelia Chapter O.E.S. Nancy enjoyed knitting and crochet, and she could always be seen with a knitting needle or crochet hook in her hands. Preceded in death by one brother David Orput, Nancy is survived by her husband Jerry McCallister of Dayton; one son Michael Alan McCallister of Dayton; one daughter Maureen Ann Mo & husband Randy Hatmaker of Vandalia; one sister Roberta Kay & husband Larry Furrow of Vandalia, mother-in-law Florence McCallister of Mercy Sienna; 11 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday December 29, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with burial to follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00am until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the American Cancer Society in Nancys memory.
