Nicholas Kallas

KALLAS, Nicholas Age 85, of Huber Heights, OH, passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Harriet (Kostopoula) Kallas and siblings, Steve Kallas, Joy (Greg) Palioyras, and Christine D’Andrea. He is survived by his lovely bride of 60 years, Doris; and his devoted daughters, Kimberly (Eric) Hannahan and Tina (David) Thomas; grandchildren Nathan (Leah) Hannahan, Kenneth Hannahan, Joshua Thomas, and Holly Thomas; great granddaughters Ella and Audrey Hannahan; best friend and cousin Demo Christon; godfather Jim Gaz; brother-in-law Weldon Auck; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Joyce Feichtner; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Fondly known as “the Greek”, Nick was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and had careers with Western Electric, Gregory’s Steakhouse, and retired from Construction & General Laborers’ Union Local 534.

Nick loved life, had a very giving spirit, and was always helping others. He was a ten-gallon blood donor and apheresis donor through the Community Blood Center and has donated his remains to Wright State University’s Anatomical Gift Program.

Nick was a long-time member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, a friend of Shiloh UCC, a fifty-year member of Huber Heights Lodge #777 F&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 5040 Rye Drive, Huber Heights, OH 45424 with Pastor Joel Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Nick’s memory to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hospice of Dayton, WSU Anatomical Gift Program, or the organization of your choosing.

The family would like to thank all of Nick’s doctors, nurses, and caregivers for taking such good care of him.
