Norma Jean Feller
Age 92, born in Dayton Ohio on June 7, 1928. Norma was the daughter of the late Elmer and Rhea (Hendrickson) Hager. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband (of 64 years) John Feller, sister Miriam Stewart and son-in-law Tony Hayes. Norma was a graduate of Julienne High School and Miami-Jacobs Junior College. She was a longtime member of St. Christopher Church in Vandalia.
Mom was a “firecracker,” a tenacious matriarch whose passion was her family. With the birth of each grandchild, Mom was first to arrive, willing to help in any way. This care extended to all of us over the years, culminating in her devotion to John in later years when his health was fragile. When John and Norma moved to an assisted living community her spunk and humor touched everyone who met her. Mom will be remembered for the way in which she made every family gathering special with ping pong in the basement, card games with the “grands,” great food and backyard fun among her beautiful flower gardens. We all yearned to return home to “509” where the welcome mat was always out.
Norma’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Sharon (Mike) Severt, Pam (Steve) Amlin and Debbie Hayes; grandchildren, Jake (Tera) Amlin, Charlie (Tiffany) Amlin, Abby (Brett) Jones, Jenny Severt, Zachary Severt, Hannah (Jake) Koopman, and Taylor Hayes; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Emma, Paige, Peyton, Elsie, Gavin, Caden, Kellan, Noah, Cameron, Chloe, Addie, Jackson and beloved nieces and nephews.
Our deepest gratitude to the staff (past and present) of Randall Residence Tipp City, in particular, the devoted caregivers of Canal Crossings who became an extension of our family and Dr. Jillian Waite. Special thanks to the nurses and aides of Heartland Hospice for their care of Norma and comfort to our family and to St. John’s Catholic Church in Tipp City for their outreach ministries which kept Norma connected with her faith.
