Norma Jane Piercey

Age 83, of Butler Twp., passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Norma was born February 6, 1935 in Butler Twp. (on the farmland that is now Forest Hills Memorial Gardens), to the late Karl & Gertrude (Balzer) Zimmer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Zimmer.

Norma was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church and enjoyed participating with her Canasta Card Club and the Vandalia-Butler Alumni. For 23 years she was a beloved school bus driver for Vandalia-Butler Schools.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of the past 64 years, J. Warren Piercey; three children, Jeff Piercey, Debbie Jackson & Julia Piercey (Bill Kirn); two brothers, Robert Zimmer (Donna Gollahon) & Ronald Zimmer (Janet); sister-in-law, Elsie Zimmer; four grandchildren, Banks (Kendra), Emily, Ryan (Carly) & Joshua (Kristen); five great grandchildren, Jacob, Jocelyn, Aliza, Cadence, Bentley; and by her extended family & many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (2/10), at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Reverend Cindee Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
