Odis Slone, Jr.
Age 80, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at his residence in Huber Heights surrounded by his family. Odis was born on February 3, 1944 to Florida Slone and Odis Slone in Pippa Passes, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Mabel Slone; sister, Emma Jean Slone; and by his parents.
Odis is survived by his daughter, Tammy Slone; his twin grandsons, Brad Slone (Kiersten) & Chad Slone (Olivia); granddaughter, Amanda Daniels (Adam); great grandson, Wyatt; sister, Alice Holbrook; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Odis served in the United States Army, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 777 F&AM in Huber Heights, and was a member of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors. He started his own business in 1974 “Odis Slone Realty.” Odis was a well-known Real Estate Broker in the Dayton Area and never met a stranger. He loved selling homes to countless people and keeping in touch over the years. As many know he was always known for his southern accent and for being a huge Kentucky Wildcats Fan. Odis would have been celebrating his 50 years of Odis Slone Realty on September 28, 2024. His legacy will be carried on by his grandson, Brad Slone.
Odis was so proud of his family and provided so much love to all. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday (9/26) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Masonic Lodge services will be conducted at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday (9/27) at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
