Olga Leszkiewicz

May 21, 1922 — March 19, 2014

LESZKIEWICZ, Olga age 91 formerly of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday March 19, 2014 at Trinity Community of Beavercreek. She was born in the Ukraine, survived a military invasion, and came to our country through Ellis Island as a post WWII immigrant with her husband and son. She remarried to the late Jan Leszkiewicz in 1959 lasting for 53 years. For 30 years she worked at Inland Div. of GM. Dedication and determination made her a success in making our country a better place to live. She supported relatives in the Ukraine with clothing and money over the years. The love of work and a stronger love of family and God were an important part of her life. Olga is survived by her son Dr. Nick Shannon and daughter-in-law Dr. Patricia Shannon of Beavercreek; 2 granddaughters Alexandra Shannon of Vandalia and Abby Shannon of Colorado Springs. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday March 21 at St Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church 4451 Wagner Rd. Dayton, OH 45440 with Father Ted Bobosh officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
