Oma P. Glanzer

Age 91, of Vandalia, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Miami County Hospice Unit. Oma was born April 19, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio to the late James R. & Edna Clara (Danks) Porter.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert Lee Glanzer, in 2011; one granddaughter, Amy Eidemiller; and one sister, Janet Pendergrass

Oma was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church; The Vandalia Lioness Club and her monthly Card Clubs. She will be remembered for her undeniable love for her family. Oma’s house was always open to welcome a visitor – and you’d better come hungry! She will be remembered for her boisterous cackle - her laugh could make a bad day better. She taught her family how to love and forgive.

Oma is survived by four children, Martin Glanzer & his wife, Bonny, Lynne Eidemiller & her husband, Edward, Robin Wead & her husband, Steve and Diane VanHoose; 11 grandchildren, Amy (deceased), Kenny, Ben, Emily, Casey, Jennifer, Robert, Thomas, Brandon, Adam & Abbie; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael Malcosky officiating. Interment will be at Willowview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Oma to either Hospice of Miami County or the charity of your choice. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
