May 12, 1936 — February 17, 2016

MUSIC, Oneida Faye (Mistyurik) (nee Carpenter), age 79, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on February 17, 2016 at home in Tipp City surrounded by her loving family. Oneida was born at home in Loam, Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Denver and Ella Myrtle (Davidson) Carpenter on May 12, 1936. After spending her early years in Kentucky, her family moved to Dayton where she attended Overlook Grade School and in 1955 graduated from Wilbur Wright H.S. A fervent and dedicated Christian, she faithfully attended Crossroads Church of God for many years and in recent years attended Redemption Christian Tabernacle, where she made many friends who she loved and prayed for. Her greatest accomplishments were her children and the love of her grandchildren.

Oneida is preceded in death by her parents, her past husband and father of her children, Jack Mistyurik, and husband until his death, William Music. She is survived by her loving children, John (Betty) Mistyurik of Troy, Lori (Bill) Herkins of Tipp City, and Linda (Jim) Tansley of Union. Oneida has four sisters living on to lovingly remember her: Naomi (Jerry) Williams of Bellbrook, Doris Jones of Vandalia, Sharon (Darrell) Mayabb of Arvada, CO and Deborah (William) Borden of Oakwood. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren: Jamie, Emily, Lesley, Laura, Chrissy, Kelly and Nate. Fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; all important parts of her large extended family.

A visitation will be held at the Redemption Christian Tabernacle, 11780 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City, OH on Monday evening, February 22 from 6-8 pm. There will also be a visitation at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with the funeral service to be held at 11:00 am with Pastor Todd Hoskins officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, on N. Dixie Drive in Dayton.
