Opal M. O'Connell

O’CONNELL, Opal M, age 85 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. She was born June 8, 1932 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Vernon L. & Helen O. (Clemons) Tracey. Preceded in death by her husband, William O’Connell, sister, Iris Tracey & brother, Vernon Trace Jr., Opal is survived by her 2 children, Kathy Baughman (Mark Sherman) of Vandalia, and Tim O’Connell (Becky) of Pleasant Hill; 1 brother, Joseph Tracey (Mary) of Huber Heights; 1 sister, Sharon Scholz (Doug); 4 grandchildren, Ryan O’Connell (Bridget), Kelly Baughman (Isaac); Erin Hecht (Jens) & Andrew Baughman (Madelaine); great-grandchildren, Traynor, Morgan, Genevieve & Ben, and one on the way, Easton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 13 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. William Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SICSA Pet Adoption Center, or to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8986 Dog Leg Rd., Dayton, OH 45414 in Opal’s memory.
