Pastor James V. Grant Sr.

GRANT, Pastor James V. Sr., age 62 of Dayton passed away Friday January 22, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. He was born December 3, 1947 son of James E. & Audrey (Meeker) Grant. Pastor Grant served as a minister with the Faith Ministries. He was preceded in death by his father James E. Grant, stepfather Paul Proctor and a nephew Raymond Banks. James is survived by his mother Audrey Proctor; one son James V. Jr. & wife Tisha Grant; 2 daughters Kathy & husband Mark George, and Judy Grant; former wife Linda Grant; 2 sisters Victoria & husband Edgar Sullivan, Tamara & husband Michael Sweeney; 6 grandchildren Mark, Megan, Christine, Rick, Tyler, Vincent; 3 cousins Andrea Stewart, Dorlene & John Doughtery, Sue & Bob Steele and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday January 26 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Pastor Bob Wills officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30am until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in James memory.
