MONROE, Pastor Michael E., age 46 of Versailles, KY, formerly of the Dayton area, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born February 25, 1961 in Dayton, OH. Michael had served as Minister of Music & Education at the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton for 13 years before moving to Kentucky. He was a graduate of Cumberland College and a Seminary in Dallas, TX. Michael is survived by his wife, Penny (Blevins) Monroe; 1 daughter, Rachel; 2 sons, Nick & Neil, all at home; his parents, Pastor Wayne & Pauline (Morgan) Monroe of Butler Twp.; 2 brothers, Kevin Monroe of Nashville, TN, Scott & wife, Jenny Monroe and their children, Matthew & Morgan of Clayton; paternal grandfather, Ronald Chadwick of OK and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 1 at the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, 705 S. Elm Street, with Pastor Mark Scroggins officiating. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery, Butler Twp. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Vandalia, 140 Elva Ct., on Tuesday evening from 5-8 pm and from 10:00 am Wednesday until time of service in West Carrollton. Arrangements by Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
