Paul Tucker

TUCKER, Paul, age 87, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  He was born February 22, 1937 in Lenoir City, TN, son of the late Herbert and Bonnie (Benton) Tucker.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joyce V. Tucker, his parents; sister, Betty Ann (Gerald) Hensley of Lenoir City, TN; brother-in-law, Bob Day of Lenior City, TN; and brother-in-law, Charles (Donna) Verburg of Vandalia; Paul is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Day; 2 daughters, Paula (Don) Whitecar and Michelle (Bob) Graham, both of Vandalia; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin (Ashley) Graham of Vandalia, Michael (Ashleigh) Whitecar of Springboro, and Bryan (Amy) Graham of Vandalia; 3 great-grandchildren, Leighton James Whitecar, Henley Ryan Graham and Meadow June Graham.   Paul is also survived by nieces and nephews, Cecilia Newman and Sonya (Danny) Bivens of Lenoir City, TN; Doug (Sue) Verburg of Sarasota, FL, Ken (Nancy) Verburg of Lexington, SC; and Brad (Jill) Verburg of Beavercreek Township, Ohio.

Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany and later served with the National Guard and the Honor Guard.  He retired from Top Value Enterprises after 30 years of dedicated service.

Paul served for 40 years as a faithful member of the Vandalia Baptist Temple with his long-time friend and mentor Pastor Troy Todd.  He has been a member of the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle since 2008.  Paul loved the Lord, and it is a blessed assurance that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now and forever.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, May 17 at the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle, 8010 N. Main St., Dayton, OH with Pastor Tim Livingston officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle in Paul’s memory.   Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
