Pauline Marie Barber
Age 83, of Dayton, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 29th, 2021. Pauline was born May 19th, 1937 in Dunbar, West Virginia to the late Homer & Elizabeth (Reed) Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Minnie Turley (Denver), Conard Robinson (Kathy), David Robinson, Larry Robinson, and Buddy Robinson. Pauline is survived by her loving husband of the past 65 years, Archie Barber; two daughters, Kandy Gibson (Don) and Debbie Flohre (Steve); three grandchildren, Josh Flohre (Callie Young), Heather Buck (Evan), and Chelsea Krogman (Karl); three great grandchildren, Miles & Ari Krogman and Wylde Ladd; and by three siblings, Don Robinson (Janet), Jerry Robinson (Spring) and Sharon Robinson.
Pauline was the type of mom who did everything with her girls and grandchildren. Whether it was out shopping for Beanie Babies for the grandchildren, or dancing in the living room with her many music albums; she was always a happy person and willing to head out for fun. Family was important and she enjoyed road trips to the mountains and beach time under an umbrella in Myrtle Beach. She was a lover of quilts and antiques, enjoyed gardening, and cooking. For the last few years, Pauline was battling dementia but always had a spark when her family was around.
Pauline worked for Allstate Insurance for 29 years as a claim’s adjuster. She always earned many awards due to her great customer service. Pauline was a people person and hardly ever met a stranger.
Pauline never wanted to be the center of attention, so her celebration of life will be at a later date for family.
If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Pauline to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements for Pauline is being made through Morton & Whetstone funeral home in Vandalia.
