Pearl E. Spitzer

SPITZER, Pearl E., age 98, of Vandalia, OH passed away on November 7, 2012. Pearl was born October 1, 1914 in Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia and the Classics Group, as well as the Vandalia Senior Citizens. Pearl was also an employee of the Vandalia Butler City Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria at Butler High School for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford C. Spitzer and 1 son, Ronald Spitzer, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Pearl is survived and much loved by a special grandson, Greg Jackson, 7 daughters, Delores (Bob) Jackson of Vandalia, Juanita (Bob) Noble of Vandalia, Roberta Eshelman of Huber Heights, Marilyn (Jan) Bondurant of Piqua, Barbara (Walt) Carraway of N. Carolina, Kathy (Ralph) Rutledge of N. Carolina, Nancy Helrigle of N. Carolina; 5 sons, Richard (Pat) Spitzer of Tipp City, Franklin (Pam) Spitzer of S. Carolina, Kenneth Spitzer of Tipp City, Robert (Cindy) Spitzer of Dayton and Stephen Spitzer of Troy; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends from Classics. Pearl loved attending Classics at church, playing bingo and cards, working puzzles and reading. She will be remembered for her sense of humor. TO KNOW HER WAS TO LOVE HER. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 10 at the First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Friday evening from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Pearls memory. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
