Phillip "Barry" Hanselman

October 15, 1932 — July 28, 2023

Vandalia, Ohio

Phillip (Barry) Barron Hanselman Sr. of Vandalia, Ohio died peacefully at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton on Friday, July 28th, 2023.  Born October 15, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, Barry graduated from Fairview High School in 1951 and attended Miami University.  He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran.  He spent his career in the construction and remodeling industry and retired from Aristocrat Products after over 30 years of dedicated sales.

Barry was a devoted family man.  In addition to his wife Millie, children, and grandchildren, Barry is survived by his two brothers, Tom and George Hanselman, preceded in death by sister Lynn Kirby, and brothers Ronny and Tim. Their bond brought strength and support to each other throughout their lives.

Barry and Millie were married for nearly 35 years. They were blessed with a blended family that included children, spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Barry is survived by his children, Phil, Bart, Missy, and Mike, and by his step-children, Sharon, Randy, Gary, Dan, and a one-of-a-kind step-daughter-in-law, Laura who referred to him as Pop and tirelessly managed his care.

Barry had a passion for building and remodeling homes together with his beloved wife Mille, and his skills were remarkable.  The love and dedication they poured into these projects were a reflection and shared dreams.

In addition to building, Barry found joy on the golf course. Playing golf was not just a hobby for him; it was a way to connect with friends and family and enjoy the outdoors. His love for the game started with his father and continues with his children's passion for the game.

Barry had a heart for helping others and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His caring and compassionate nature touched the lives of those around him, and he positively impacted many.  We will miss him but find comfort in knowing God has prepared a place for him.
